Fringeworks / Dead Men's Tales Update
Update: Just to let everyone know, Dead Men's Tales, with my story Skarett's Treasure, was published in February 2017. You can find it HERE.
I received an e-mail yesterday from Melissa Black, the editor of Fringeworks' Dead Men's Tales anthology. If you've read my other posts on this, you know my story, Skarett's Treasure, was to be included, but it seemed as if the project had stalled and was in danger of disappearing altogether. It's been a long time coming, but she confirmed it is to come out during the third quarter of this year (around September?). The cover art is almost complete and the project is moving forward!
That's all for now, but I hope to have more on this soon!

Yay! Phew. sheesh. Being in this industry is like walking on pins and needles.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Now I have to see if anything's happening with my OTHER story at Fringeworks (The Fisherman and his Wife - fairytale rework). Maybe they strung some barbed wire around those pins and needles!
DeleteI've never known a publisher be this slow with publishing a story before.
DeleteJust sent back the final edits on "The Fisherman and His Wife." From what I understand, they are still trying to find a cover artist. Maybe someday!
DeleteOctober and still waiting on Dead Mens Tales. When she said things would start being quicker I thought she actually meant it.
ReplyDeleteYeah... I know what you mean. I really thought we'd at least see a finished cover by now. And the only mention of the story on the Fringeworks site is http://www.fringeworks.co.uk/blog/?p=969 .
DeleteFinally being published in the next few weeks (probably).
ReplyDeleteYes, it looks like there is finally some movement on this! Thanks!
DeleteHow long does it really take for someone to write an introduction to an anthology? Fringeworks must be the slowest publisher in the world.
DeleteThey do seem to be having their problems. The website hasn't been updated in months - usually not a good sign. I still have hopes that it might eventually get published, but it has been an ordeal. Maybe publishers should have deadlines just like writers!
DeleteI managed to get a response direct from the publisher, and they have said that it is definitely being published in about 2 week's time.
