FSF Challenge - Fresh

Five Sentence Fiction badge from Lillie McFerrin Writes

This week's writing challenge
from
Five Sentence Fiction
Lillie McFerrin Writes )
is based upon the prompt:

Fresh

What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week Lillie posts one word for inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word.

Some New Year's resolutions should be kept... I'm thinking this would be a good one for me.

"Dad said he was going to start his exercise program today."
"Yeah, the first day of the new year was when he was going to begin taking care of himself."
"The doctor said he should have started long ago, but I guess it doesn't matter now."
"Sure it does. Right after the funeral, what do say we both go for a long, brisk walk—and keep doing it every other day—so our kids don't have to have this conversation?"

  1. Wow, this sure was a creative way to attempt this prompt! A lot many of us need to do exactly what he was asked to do..take care of ourselves, but how many of us actually do that?

    1. Thank you for the comment and the compliment!

People should be more aware of taking care of themselves, but they seldom do. Just watch a mother taking care of her child. She will always make sure the child is fed, warm, and safe before she even thinks of helping herself.

Yes, I should go out for a short jog myself this morning, but I'm not sure it's going to happen... but I will keep trying to live in a more healthy style!

Thanks for dropping by to comment!
